monarch migration by aecasey

monarch migration

I never imagined I would get to see a monarch migration, but youngest son dropped in to say he'd seen a few dozen gathering in his trees last night. When I visited this evening there were literally hundreds settling in for the night. Now I understand why we've been seeing more, though it is a surprise as we've never been on their migratory path before. It is absolutely thrilling to see them gathering! I am like a little child on Christmas morning, filled with delight and wonderment! I visited a bit too late this evening, as the sun was setting, shadows were deep, and ISO is high. Tomorrow, though, I plan to go earlier. I do hope they linger a day or so before they continue on their journey. So exciting!
Fantastic clarity, very beautiful!
