refracted sunflowers

Jacqueline challenged me to do a refraction without the use of my crystal ball. I saw this water filled light bulb used years ago by Aaron @grizzlysghost and I've always wanted to try it. My first light bulb was frosted, and I couldn't get the bulb clear. The second bulb was a clear one I snitched from the barn. After breaking out the insides I filled it with water and sealed it with floral clay. Then it was off to the sunflower field!

Actually, I went to see if the monarchs were still roosting. There were a dozen or so flitting about, but not the hundreds from last night. Hope they are all in this field and will come back to the windbreak tonight, but sometimes they only stop for a night before moving on so we'll see. As for the light bulb ... will undoubtedly use this again in other contexts.
Jacqueline @jacqbb Here's my first refraction image. I've always wanted to try a water filled light bulb, and your push was the perfect opportunity. Composition is a bit tricky, as was making the light bulb. Hopefully I'll be able to try this again later in the week.

Nice one with the focus and blue and orange. I think the job with the ligthbulb is great, I would be scared to cut myself.
