Though the hens weren't paying attention, another tom was and he decided to intervene in the display. At first he just blocked the strutting tom, but when that didn't discourage him, he began to utilize some good pushes and shoves. The hens, bored with the toms' antics, gradually moved on, and the toms reluctantly followed.
