roost

The monarchs had just begun to gather and roost in the evenings when our weather took an unpleasant change to dark, cloudy, and windy. This is the only roost image I got this year, as today they were all gone. Still, they have come through in significant numbers the past two years now, and this year there were even a small number that stayed and bred here. So, we will see what next year brings. I am hoping that this is not a reflection of a population decline, but is, rather, just serendipity with the weather and timing. Until next year ...
Awesome picture.
