Petespost challenged me to social documentary this week. This is the main street of the small rural town I grew up in. The town is dying. This street, once filled with thriving businesses, is now made up of mostly old, empty buildings. There are a patch work of businesses in town, scattered here and there, but not enough to build a thriving community.
This is a great shot of small-town-America. It looks like many towns in Iowa ...actually much better than many in Iowa. I like the grain bins at the end of the street. I started noticing the last few years how many towns have huge bins in the middle of town around here.
