Absolutely beautiful November afternoon. Warm (low 70'sF), calm, sunny. Grandpa caught the horses and the girls got in some riding. This was littlest's first time without grandpa holding the halter. Grandpa built her a circle pen, and she got to practice reining and getting the horse to move all on her own. Frustrating at first, but the horse caught on and then she had fun.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond thank you ... I considered a tighter crop but then I noticed I caught the horse's eyes up at the top edge and I didn't want to crop them out. I also rather liked that she is wearing her t-shirt from dance classes to go horse back riding and didn't want to lose that context. I could keep those in with a portrait crop, but then I felt the image didn't have room to breathe. Her movements and expressions are so fluid I don't really get much time for composing. Grab and go with her!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I didn't mind. Went straight to Lightroom and played with a few crops. Then gave it a thought about why I chose what I chose. Good to think things through!
