Headed way out to the middle of nowhere last night and found an empty road to try some star trails. It was a glorious night, not a cloud in the sky and the moon was SO bright. Amazing. This image took an hour to expose and a meteor decided to make an appearance, hence the distracting line down the center. I could have edited it out I suppose, but it was a shooting star after all and that would just be wrong!
Best on black, as usual.
My sincere thanks for all the comments, faves and follows as ever. Happy Weekend everyone!
Amazing image. I'm glad you left the meteor line in. Such amazing clear skies. There is so much light pollution around me, here, that all but the very bright stars get washed out.
Fabulous capture! Is it multiple images taken over the hour, and then combined? Or a single image exposing for an hour? Hard to see how the latter would work...
@taffy The miracle that is my Olympus E-M1iii. It does this all in camera--takes multiple exposures (this one was about 900 I think) and exposes each new one only for new light. Of course, I have to fiddle with the settings, of which I still need some experimenting, but still. Amazing technology
Now THAT is exceptional!!! I love the daylit look to the area around you and your amazing skill at capturing this image! Needless to say I'm hugely jealous that you can be out in that gorgeous expanse of land and bring home something so beautiful!!
A fav
Just. Wow! Thank you so much for honoring me with a TT image--very unexpected and very appreciated! xoxo
