While this image is much as I envisioned capturing the scene at the time, I must confess the reality wasn't nearly this dramatic. We're talking clear blue skies and rather harsh lighting so I took it upon myself to learn (or at least practice) a few new editing techniques to add a different sky and tone the image to match for a bit of drama. I have much to improve upon...
You have done a fabulous job here. I don’t think it would be taken for a photorealistic interpretation of the original scene but, who cares? It is a glorious scene that stands on it’s own. Maybe the landscape of some distant planet in the farther reaches of the galaxy. (I may have been watching too much sci-fi during the stay at home times.) ; )

@gardencat Haha! It's the outer reaches of the Sonora Pass which is rather other-worldly for sure. Only the sky (from a recent local sunset) was added and the overall tonality warmed up a bit to match. :-)
I like what you did with it. I don't think every landscape shot has to look realistic- but this one has a nice nod to realism while still being playful in the edit. Good work!
Really great image, but I'm kind of glad this is not what it looked like naturally. Maybe in an alternate technicolor universe! Wonderful editing to produce this.
Seriously? Wow! I guess it’s the sunlight from the back making the foreground leaves and flower petals glow in such an otherworldly fashion. Great find then.
