Canna In The Corner

There are many times when I am drawn to a scene with no intellectual idea as to why. I guess sometimes it's a matter of simple aesthetics more than some deep, meaningful interpretation of things. Anyway, I liked all the contrasting textures and form here so I shot it. A poet's mind I do not have!

A Friday the 13th in 2020 could surely be unlucky. Hope yours was safe, sane and uneventful!

Cheers
Great varied textures, materials and lines

Beautiful shot with wonderful textures and lines, I like the tone you chose.

You do have a really active mind! Could this be a Roman column and a whole Roman contingent of steel clad gentlemen hiding here?
November 14th, 2020
@maggiemae LOL, your mind is more active than mine apparently!
;-D

When one is drawn to a subject or scene no matter the reason, being drawn is all one needs to capture the moment. This is a beautiful capture and nicely edited.

What a huge specimen - love the colours here

Beautiful. I love the choice of sepia, it really emphasises the textures.

Love the way the lines of the wall frame the canna... nice!

The tones are nice and soft here, and the plant is great against the architecture
November 14th, 2020
Love the soft colours!

beautiful, I like the composition you have chosen and also the color you used

Nicely spotted. I like the tones in this.

What seems appealing to me here is the balance between the straight lines of the building and the organic shapes of the Canna leaves. It's very calming in monochrome too. I like it!

Lovely composition and processing
November 14th, 2020
nice comp and focus!

the comp is perfect and your choice of processing helps the brain grasp what's going on here - it's a lot but in color, it would be too much and you'd not be able to appreciate all the details here.

Simple aesthetics are good when you are behind the camera!

Beautiful textures and processing.

Beautiful composition

That's a wonderfully random shape against the geometric side interest. :)

Makes for a terrific composition -- I can see why you were drawn to the scene, and processing in sepia works well.

You have a wonderful, artistic eye. I love the composition of this shot.

We are partnered this week. I’ve skimmed back through your recent months and enjoyed looking at your photos, but my brain wasn’t coming up with something that would really pose a challenge to you. So I’m copping out and automating the challenge generation process. I notice your user name AIKIUSER has a lot of vowels. Five out of the total eight letters. Below is a link to where you’ll find all the words that can be made from that username. Use one or more of them as subject/theme/inspiration for an image. Extra points if you use more than one. If you can make a six word story with the words, you get the lalapalooza award. The only word not allowed unless part of said six word story: USER - too obvious.

@mcsiegle What an intriguing challenge!! I shall have to check out your link and see what I can come up with. I'll run through your album as well and come up with something soon!!
