Double Trouble

Here on the Central Coast of California, we have zebras, believe it or not! Descendants of newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst's private zoo, these incredible creatures now roam freely in the hills overlooking the ocean. They're not always easy to spot and so I was lucky that they were reasonably close this day. After processing for the traditional photo, I decided I was rather bored with the image as the animals were blending in too much with the texture of the dry grass background. So I opted to try a more illustrative approach instead which may or may not be any better. Oh, well, at least it was fun playing...

BOB if you're interested.

Happy weekend, everyone!

Peace
I love the editing, what a great shot. How lovely to have zebras roaming free.

Never knew that piece of history. That's kinda cool. I remember visiting Maui once and we saw deer on the side of the road. We were thrown off, and inquired in a local establishment, how in the world did deer end up on an island hundreds of miles out in the Pacific ocean. Same thing as your zebra, some millionaire's wife wanted deer for their property, and decades later, they've multiplied. Crazy.

Great capture and processing.
