Sea Urchins by aikiuser

Sea Urchins

Is it just me or is anyone else finding it harder and harder to take a photo every single day and post one from that day as well? I need way more hours in the day and this was another quick snap just in the nick of time. We have these sea urchin tests (shells) that we've collected in a jar in our bathroom and I just love the textures.

Now off to bed... Peace, all!
Great photo, love the b&w. As a scuba diver from So Cal, I have to say that I'm so much happier seeing these in a jar than in the ocean....little bastard eat all of the kelp! :)

Oh I am not a fan of these guys! They scare me when they're alive and they taste terrible (IMO) afterwards! LOL! But I'll admit I do like this shot of them!
March 16th, 2011
nice shot! yes, i'm finding it increasingly difficult to get an everyday shot!! even more difficult to comment!
March 16th, 2011
@michellepj Bahaha!! I'm not a diver (wish I were!) but I hear ya. :-)
March 16th, 2011
@callalilla Thanks! Wouldn't have the foggiest idea how they taste (NO thanks!) but they're so fun to find 'em in the tide pools!

@sparkle OMG, I am SOOO far behind in commenting. There are just so many wonderful peeps with so many fab photos. I want to stop and contemplate and comment on each one, but just can't. Dangitall! Thank you so much for all your encouraging words, I do know how much time it takes and I am SO appreciative!!!

Remembering that girl who had a dawg she took pictures of every day - good thinking. I love your shells and all your pictures and it doesn't matter if they weren't taken that day. 70% gets you a 1st class degree in the UK, so that's my guide. Life just takes over sometimes.

beautiful - love it in b/w!

Actually, I am evaluating if I really have the time to take photos for the project at all as my now 12-hour work days allow little time for me to stroll around Bangkok to take pics.
March 16th, 2011
I'm wondering if its getting harder, or if as the project (and your skills increase) we become more picky?

Love this by the way. Always love finding these at the beach.
March 16th, 2011
This is just wonderful! An instant fav for me because I love good b&w pictures and I love the sea!
March 16th, 2011

March 16th, 2011
Such neat textures. Love it.
March 16th, 2011
You done good girl, as that's beautiful. And, since we're not under contract on this site, I do believe lots of us post a photo from somewhere within the last year, or decade, since some days we take several photos we'd love to post, other days we don't.
March 16th, 2011
Very nice indeed, You do your best when you seem to be out of time.
March 16th, 2011
Love it!

A(nother) wonderful shot, Jenn. Pay close attention to Anthony's and Martha Burns' comments..... And then tell me how to get nice frames like this in Photoshop (which I'm still having trouble purchasing!), which I can use at school, and how to "tilt" the whole thing like this. I really like this shot. Will fave it.
March 16th, 2011
i love this shot...simple and beautiful.
March 16th, 2011
Love it! Fantastic textures and they appear to be floating!
March 16th, 2011
Nice composition on this one. The B&W works very well, gives better contrast imo.
March 16th, 2011
YES!!! So hard! I also need more hours, guess I won't be borrowing any from you :( Great composition.
March 16th, 2011
Yes, It is hard. Sometimes I use fillers when I have to.
Wonderful shot. I do love the textures.
March 16th, 2011
I've given up . . . I sometimes have to take multiple shots in one day and spread out their posts . . . just can't do it every single day . . . Wonderful shot by the way! :D
March 16th, 2011
Beautiful!!
March 16th, 2011
Great texture, focus and DOF. Nice for a quick daily shot, I gave up trying to shoot and post every day.
March 16th, 2011
It's fabulous! I find I either get lots of shots or none - but decided not everyday can be good - some pics just represent the day. This is a beauty though and I love the framing.
March 16th, 2011
great photo :) yeah... this is starting to get tough... but it seems you're holding out nicely... and for twice as long as me even!

Hey lady :) :) PP for this one!! congrats.. this is lovely!
March 18th, 2011
Great shot! And PP to boot. Interesting textures, and the b&w suits it well.

And I hear you on the time to take/post a photo (not to mention comment on others). It's been challenging for me to find time to shoot lately, so I just make do best I can.
March 21st, 2011
Beautiful, Jenn. I knew going in that I couldn't make the 1:1 thing, but I'm enjoying the project and learning a lot.
March 21st, 2011
A great quick snap! And yes, life is so, so busy!
March 21st, 2011
Cool shot. I have a love-hate relationship with sea urchins having had more than one accidental run-in's with them from my childhood. Yes, a shot a day was difficult for me. Not to mention half the time I was dragging out my flash equipment at 11pm at night and hunting for a household photo op.
March 26th, 2011
@lintbrush LO--Sorry 'bout those run ins! But I know what you mean about the late night shoots. It seems most of my shots come right before bed as I don't seem often to come across them randomly during the day. Gaah!
