Nice! I think this flower is a Yellow Tiger Lily, not sure though

Alstromeria (sp) we call 'em. My Saturday job at school was in a flower shop, and on my Saturday night's out, i used to wear these in my hair. My dad would be furious at his 'strumpet daughter'! But they were a fave then. They are sooo pretty and you have that pinned down beautifully here, set off beautifully with the processing. Love that.

What Robert said: Alstroemeria. I have some orange ones on my table right now and wish you were here to photograph them and do them justice. A beautiful photo, Jenn.

Goregous, yellow beauty!

Yes, a lily for sure. I only know 'cause we call the orange ones tiger lilies - they're perennials that grow wild in our alley ways. Gorgeous picture.

How do you keep doing these beautiful flower pics? Are they in front of a white background (in real life), then add a "texture" in the editor? It's right and textured and beautiful, like a classical painting.

I don't know flower names either . . . does look like some sort of lily . . . but lovely by any name!

@shawnanne LOL! Actually, "yellow growies" is MY name for them (I don't have kids) and I'm indirectly asking my mom, @aikimomm, the name as I know she'll be able to rattle it off, no prob! Apparently several other kind folks knew the answer as well.
:-D

@bonniebouman Thank you so much! As it is almost always dark by the time I have a chance to photograph anything, I often have to take indoor shots which usually means, yes, setting up flowers (or whatever) in front of a white paper as I have no other interesting backgrounds, and then adding a texture in post. I'm still learning the technique, but am having a lot of fun experimenting! Oh, and sometimes I put the objects on or in front of a little light box I had (which was used in the days of slide viewing!) :-D

"Alstroemeria" THANKS to everyone who helped me out with the name! I shall do my very best to remember it, although "yellow growies" makes much more sense to me. :-) And big thanks for all your lovely comments--I really appreciate them and will be getting back with YOUR pics, which I can't wait to see, asap!!!
