Irony

Today is Columbus Day in America. ...It is also Native Americans Day. Hmmm...
Nice shot! In front of a cigar store?

Columbus overshadows the American Indians once again! I think they need separate holidays!
October 12th, 2011
Great shot and artwork:)
October 12th, 2011
@rudit Thanks, Rudi! Actually, it's a wooden sculpture, just weird editing.
:-)

@kerristephens Yeah, I think even "Talk Like A Pirates Day" gets more press.
October 12th, 2011
great choice for the day
October 12th, 2011
@kerristephens @aikiuser I've never heard of a Native Americans Day either. Then there is Grandparents Day, which is also never recognized. I'd be better off on both counts to learn to Talk Like a Pirate... Regardless, this is a very cool sculpture and great photo of it.

That's exactly what the christians did to stamp out the Pagan festivals. They just made their thing on the same day. Eventually the masses don't give a shit what the holiday is for as long as there's alcohol, right?
