Went out to test my "new" 100-400 tonight and was unbelievably lucky to spot two Peregrine Falcon fledglings on a nearby ocean cliff just as the sun was going down. Sure, there were all kinds of weeds in the way, but OMG, what a treat!! These birds were darn near extinct not all that many years ago and while they've made a remarkable comeback, it's still a rare treat to actually spot these beauties. I'm still on a high! Not a bad way to break in a new lens, eh?!
Agreed - Big is the way to look at this. The birds are gorgeous, the dark background sets them off beautifully, and I even like the faint blur of foreground plants. Nice sharp lens too. Fav.
