The Head

This sculpture was created in response to a millennium competition initiated by the then Mayor of Calne in 2000.

The winner was Rick Kirby with this work.

The completed front represents the past. The rear of the piece, with its open, incomplete lattice points to the challenges of the future.

The small plaque on the paving in front of the sculpture reads 'This sculpture was unveiled by Her Majesty The Queen on 7th December 2001'.
