The Michael Baker Boathouse, which is the rowing base for the Kings School Worcester, is named after the sole benefactor of the project (an alumnus of the school).
Replacing a previously small and unsightly boat-shed, the new structure cuts a striking shape along the banks of the River Severn.
The building had a complex geometry with the shape of it designed to look like a boat.
A large cantilevered viewing area was constructed at the front of the building with views up and down the river which looks like 'the boat is floating' in the air.
