Here's a portrait of Phoenix, one of our sun conures, just being wary of the camera. Both my girls have now lost their initial interest in the camera - Phoenix tends to fly away and Magic tries to eat it... so photographing them can be a bit tricky at times!
Beautiful picture. I sometimes think pets are hard to photograph because of their intense interest in the camera and their lack of fear of the photographer. Great colour.
That does look like a "why are you sticking that big black thing in my face again?!" face. Phoenix is beautiful, and I really like how she and the perch are angled.
@annettea Phoenix has a limited vocabulary ("Hello" and "Clever", though she has also been known to say "What's that?". Magic, our other parrot can also say "Juice", "sausage sandwich" - don't ask! - "scritches please" and "kiss" - all at the appropriate times)
@michellepj I think you're right about the look - and there's also some 'how close is that thing going to get to me?' about it too... :)
