While Magic (on the left) is usually a complete snugglebug, and Phoenix (on the right) is generally quite shy, the claws come out (literally) if they get too close. Phoenix has carved a window seat for herself out of the blinds, and Magic has recently discovered it too. It turns out that despite taking up nearly the whole window (over a metre) it's not big enough for the both of them! This is what happened half a second before I got involved... (They don't actually hurt each other - it just gets noisy with lots of open beaks and lunging).
Fabulous photo of two assertive little birds - I know that when it is breeding time with ours, they certainly have me bluffed. I open the door, chuck in the food and slam it shut. I'm sure they laugh their heads off when I'm gone. I like how you done this in the silhouette - dark colours. It really makes the position of the beaks stand out and look aggro.
@murnane@kaisisland The silhouettes are SOOC - the girls were against the light from the window - I just turned off the flash. (I did retouch a couple of splodges on the glass and crop, but otherwise it's as I took it :) )
@ellen I think Magic was about to scratch/push Phoenix away - I interceded pretty quickly when I saw the feet getting involved...
