Typical isn't it - finally a theme I can do something sensible with and I'm stuck at work all day with nothing remotely natural to point the (at home) camera at until after dark...
So instead I'll post a pic of my exciting new acquisitions. After years of learning ballet, and almost as many years trying to track down non-leather-soled pointe shoes, I finally found some! :) So ugly, blistered toes and sore feet here I come!
Cute shot! Why non-leather-soled? I tried very hard to learn to dance on these but I failed miserably. Still love ballet though ;). Hope you find a few minutes for a nature shot soon - having my fingers crossed!

@brittgow@jannaellen I'm vegan, so leather and suede are not options. Unfortunately that rather limits options for specialist things like pointe shoes...
@girlie@mimosa I'm sure there will be pics of my feet in the shoes sometime... possibly in about 3 years time :) I don't have a tutu (though I'd love one...) @marytj I'm not sure beautiful is right... dancer is closer :) I just have fun.
Ooooh they are soooooooooo pretty. So glad you found some vegan ones. I remember even finding non-leather ballroom type shoes was a pain - anything with a synthetic upper had suede soles and anything with a synthetic sole had leather uppers...go figure!
@ellen I try to be a dancer :) I got to do it for a couple of years when I was about 7 years old, then we moved house and I had to give it up. Then uni got in the way (no money), then PhD studies (no time), then finally when I moved to Melbourne I found a school with adult classes so I took up ballet and jazz dancing properly in my mid-20s and been dancing ever since :)
Gorgeous pointe shoes, good for you. I can only imagine how sore feet must get in these things. I gave up ballet as a kid about the time the others were moving towards the point shoes!!
can you not bring nature indoors for a close up or two?
