I didn't get chance to upload a photo yesterday as I was in Bendigo, a lovely city in regional Victoria. I'm involved in a project called Scientists in Schools, which partners people with science experience with schools (funnily enough!). I've been working online with students from a Bendigo school for the last few weeks, and the programme offered to pay for me to make the 2.5 hour trek to visit, so I got to ride up on the train, stay overnight and visit the school before returning). My hotel room had a tiny balcony so I attempted some HDR shots of this rather pleasant view...
Bendigo was built quite early in Victoria's history, and was important in 'goldrush' days. It has a strong links to China, with a Dragon Museum (and the longest Chinese Dragon in the southern hemisphere) as well as a great many heritage buildings, a few of which are visible in this pic).
lovely shot, I haven't been there for many years and your shot reminds me I should visit Bendigo again. I like the golden glow of the lights in town against the silvering evening sky
@indianabluejay The camera has an HDR mode so I just use that. Mostly the pics don't look much different from non-HDR shots, but occasionally there's a good one.
@jgoldrup I have an excellent time with the little kids :) The older ones were very friendly and welcoming, but I didn't get much chance to work with them as the classes were pretty packed with their presentations.
