Square: S-challenge

I took the camera to work today in the hope of finding something square to point it at... then everywhere I looked I saw squares - this was all before I even got to my office!

Question for you: do you have macro options on your G12? My dad really wants some macro capabilities for his camera, but I cannot find difinitive answers online. If you have accessories, what are they and are they good? THANK YOU for any opinion/advice.

Great photos emphasizing the squares. I teach math and I am having my students create collages illustrating different "math" items in life by cutting out photos. This would be perfect for them!!

@cfitzgerald There is a macro mode, which is pretty good. The flash is badly placed for macro shots, so you need bright light or alternative lighting, but for general daytime close-ups it's fine. The main pic in my 14th August collage was taken with macro mode, as was 9th July and 13th June. You can also get extension tubes and macro lenses for it easily and cheaply (see my 25th June pic). I hope that helps!
