curled up flower

The fairy irises seem to come out at night, and by day they curl up their petals, presumably to protect them from the hot Sun.

okay, kiddo, this just reminded me that i've been hankering for ice cream since i arrived in manila. have gone back to canada and still haven't had ice cream. this looks like the peaches and cream flavour i have in my deep freeze so i'm going to take a break from commenting and get me that ice cream right now. don't care if it's freezing outside. i want ice cream. :-) and it means this is a very nice picture!
