A return to the VMFA, this time with my husband to go to the big Tiffany show. Richmond is the only U.S. stop for “Tiffany: Color and Light,” which will continue until August 15. The exhibition includes more than 170 works by Louis Comfort Tiffany – the master of American glass – and his studio. Handblown glass objects, leaded-glass windows, lamps, and other decorative items from Tiffany’s studios are featured along with oil paintings, watercolors, and mosaics. After completing our tour through this special exhibit we went to the third floor to see the museum's Art Deco gallery and the Tiffany works exhibited there. The beauty and simplicity of this display really appealed to me.
so love Tiffany lamps, how lucky are you to be able to go to that show. Love the shadows in your photo.
Re your comment on my bulb photo, in Australia we are now in Winter, not Fall, or Autumn as we call it, some some of bulbs are now starting to poke through the ground, but alot arn't yet
This is SIMPLY and completely BEAUTIFUL. Tiffany was an extremely talented artist -- and his lamps are amazing in their beauty.
They are beautiful turned off, a different beauty when turned on, and even the shadows are beautiful.
Great photo with the light spraying across the wall. I was surprised when I saw the visiting exhibition. I didn't know about all the handblown glass objects, the paintings, etc.
Lucky you to have such a wonderful show come to your neighborhood! I would enjoy that immensely! I wouldn't have thought of finding something for the "simplistic" theme at such a show, but didn't this work nicely!
Reharding my "risk/dock", I think it's been there a very long time! About 5 years ago, Hurricane Juan came through, and maybe this is a result (it took out a lot of trees, especially up in Halifax) but anymore, I think what's left is someone's idea of a joke!

My tomato pic was not taken with my cell. I used my Kodak Z612 because my DSLR is in for repairs.
