Now that I'm home and have looked through all the photos on our trip, I hate to leave them buried on my computer, so I think I will choose some from the hundreds to share for the next few days.
This was taken in Swampscott, MA. I don't have the chance to see cat tails often so I took several pictures of them growing in the marsh along the path to the beach.
I think we are going to have a huge crop of gorgeous cattails this Fall -- I'm so glad that you are going to share some of your vacation photos with us. I think its a terrible shame for the beautiful or meaningful photos to stay in the computer with no one to appreciate their beauty.
The spot you describe where your brother lives sounds idyllic! Yours (and our) vacation sites make for wonderful photos and memories. Southern California simply isn't anything like that!
great shot. I haven't seen cat tails in a very long time. By the way, I loved your comment on Louise's photo:
" I am not complaining because what other profession gives you a fresh start every year!" Thanks for the reminder! It really is a beautiful thing to have a fresh start every year. I'd just like to delay it by one week. We start back August 26 this year!
This is beautiful! There's a patch of cat tails I pass every day on my walk... my daughter loves to take them apart and make an amazing amount of fluff from them. Hey - just noticed that you're so close to having posted 365 pictures! Amazing! Congratulations!

Viking Days sound interesting. Are they having Scandinavian food and maybe thet are singing songs in Finnish?
