Third and fourth graders at my school can sign up to be in the Library Club. This is a organization that provides an important service by collecting books from the classrooms and returning them to the library to be checked in. Students sign a contract to commit to coming one morning a week from 7:50 to 8:10. In addition to the satisfaction of performing a valuable service, the club members can look forward to an end-of-the-year party. They love carrying books in these special library baskets and even more fun, they work with a partner to scan the books and place them on carts ready for reshelving. It's amazing what they can accomplish in 20 minutes.
That's really cool! Great idea to get the kids involved, and I'm sure it makes it easier on the staff as well. You guys do such a great job with your school library!
How lovely to see children raised to be good citizens and dedicated to helping at a young age. It bodes well for their future, and ours too!
...Yes, I enjoy this community such a great deal, I'm likely to keep going after I finish the year. It remains to be seen if I'll be as dedicated to daily posts as it's completely changed my daily life this year. But I can't imagine not going through photos and leaving supportive comments. Not sure either if I'll advance to photo 366 or use one of my additional albums...
