Today was city living at its best. This morning John and I stopped on Monument Avenue to watch the last day of a very special event. Here is a partial description from the website:
"Plein Air Artists from all over the United States will meet in Richmond for one amazing Week in June to create paintings in support of the Richmond Symphony.
"Fast and Fresh" on Monument Avenue: June 23
On Saturday from 9 am -12 pm juried and non-juried artists will start and complete paintings on Richmond’s famed Monument Avenue. These “wet” paintings will be available for purchase right off the easels with proceeds benefiting the Symphony."
We didn't buy any (too costly, I'm afraid) but I did take lots of pictures which we all know is the next best thing!
These are just a few of my photos. Use the magnifier for the best view.
So much to take in with your collage! Looks like you had a "picture-perfect" day. It's always fun to watch an artist at work - how I admire their talent!
How wonderful to read about this event and catch the flavor of it through your pictures! We, too, have "Paint Sea on Site" done in the same way. The work is not out of reach, but similarly, it's a battle to get what you'd like to own! I've filled my house and love every bit of it!
Sounds like a great idea for a fundraiser! I bet the air was crackling with creativity with all those artists together in one place :) Great collage to show it all off :)
