A few days ago I was so aggravated with the uneven toasting of my bagel, I was ready to start shopping for a new toaster. That was before I turned to Amazon and started reading reviews. The prices ranged from modest to ridiculous, but no matter what the price or features, the customer reviews for any model ranged from highly critical to wild praise. So upon further reflection, I decided to stick with the devil I know. At least I can count on it working when I push down the lever.
@sarasdadandmom I really wanted a slim model with a single slot that doesn't take up much space on a counter, but it seems like nowadays every model is big enough to require a table all its own.
@allie912 I am with you, I received a gift certificate and I used it to buy one of those fancy 55 dollar cuisinart toasters. It lasted 6 months and was big enough for its own zip code.
I always end up totally confused by Amazon reviews. I solved the problem by going to a store and handling cameras until I found one I thought would work for me.
My philosophy has always been, 'if it ain't broke, keep it." Revised from the old saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Well, you know what I mean ;-) Maybe someone will buy you one for Christmas if you put out a few hints.
