Richmond Railway Museum by allie912

Richmond Railway Museum

On this unseasonably warm Sunday afternoon, everyone in Richmond was out and about. John and I struck out for a good spot by the James River to take pictures. We crossed the Mayo Bridge and found a parking area near the flood wall. It turned out to be the parking lot for the Railway Museum, an undiscovered treasure. Built at the site of the former Hull Street station, it opened in 2011 and is manned by volunteers from the Central Virginia Railroad Association. We had a great chat with Mr. Tarrant who could trace his family back to the 17th century. From here we walked to the river, and those pictures I will post tomorrow.
Another great gem!
