Flags Lowered Again

How many more times will we have to endure the lowering of our flags to commemorate another senseless tragedy, before our country comes to grips with the issue of gun violence?

Heard about this tragedy on TV, a few hours ago. Senseless.

Meaningful shot--but senseless violence. I spent some time today talking to my granddaughter about it--but what can I say? That the adults can't figure out how to keep the children safe?

Been hearing about it here in UK. We can't understand how there are laws that allow this to happen. A solemn image Alison - is this outside your school?

@Cherrill Yes. We have lots of security in place, and we feel like a loving family school but apparently that can all change in a moment.

@allie912 As you say, your school, from your pictures is a wonderful community and many of the bereaved students said the same about theirs. I don't usually agree with a lot of what Trump says !! but he did address the mental health issue that must have been behind the boy's thinking.

So very sorry that you have this tragedy in your country, you must feel so helpless & aprehensive. You think it will never happen anywhere near you but of course it too often does. Too many young lives ended in unnecessary & preventive actions. I have doubts though from what I have read that the gun lobby is very strong. So glad we don't have guns in everyday use here. We do have occasional shootings but it's rare thank goodness.

i don't know what to say allison, I don't understand the gun culture in the US, most of our police don't even carry guns in the UK !
