In Honor of Dr Walter Griggs

Dr. Griggs was a gentleman and a gentle man. He was the father of a young woman who attended Collegiate, assisted in the library and eventually became an archivist in the State Library of Virginia. I got to know Dr. Griggs when he used to stop by the library while Cara was helping us. We bonded over his love for moose. At the time I was reading a story to Second Graders called The Blue Moose by Daniel Pinkwater. What a surprise when he presented me with my own blue moose, which he had fashioned himself.
Dr. Griggs was a man of many interests and talents. He will be missed by a whole community of friends, students, scholars and family. Here is his obituary to read for yourself about this lovely man: https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/richmond-va/walter-griggs-8765469
How lovely to have a permanent reminder of him
