The governance in the Presbyterian Church is by means of a board or session of Elders, elected by the congregation. This is in contrast to both denominations that are ruled by bishops as well as individual Congregational churches that are independent in their decision making. In contrast the Presbyterian church has a system in which there are levels of authority, with churches connected into presbyteries, synods and a General Assembly with oversight over the wider denomination.
So here you see the installation of this year’s class of elders who have committed to serving the will of God in this congregation. They have had to make some difficult decisions during the pandemic and they continue to look ahead with thought and vision.
Presbyterian churches are part of our heritage too.

My dear Dad had a special presentation a couple of years before he passed away, having been an elder in my home church for 50 years. Much loved!
@sarah19 I have served as a ruling elder for several terms and “once an elder, always an elder” It is both a responsibility and an honor, and I’m sure your Dad felt that as well.
