Returning from our trip to Florida with no chance to take photos today, I offer you a picture from Friday taken on a walk around Lake Alice on the UF campus. Walking this wooded path was like returning to the land of the dinosaurs, overgrown, silent, dense with plants, insect life and birds. I don't know the name of this butterfly but I am hoping someone on 365 can tell me.
This butterfly is gorgeous.
I believe that it is a female eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly.
It's colors are wonderful -- as are the colors of the foliage that it is resting upon.
