My niece's two little boys are both allergic to dogs and cats so they are raising chickens! Their father built them an elaborate chicken coop attached to the back of the garage and there the hens spend the day surveying their domain. Sadly, some predator found a way in and spirited off 2 of the littlest ones. And that is why you don't name chickens. I do love the colors of these gals and their air of deep interest. When I first stuck my camera through the chicken wire, the lady on the left came right up and pecked at the lens!
I had another photo which I think is a better composition but it left out the black and white bird. Here it is if you are interested: http://www.flickr.com/photos/28722085@N08/4852343724/
While your "flicker Chickens" were in a tidy row, I do like this with the beautiful black and white girl. I imagine they'd be sweet pets, but, too bad that some go missing...a small tragedy in a child's early upbringing! In spite of all, I'll bet they actually *do* have names...?
Seriously....I love the colors in their feathers.
