Stop the Presses

It finally happened. Our work horse of a printer broke down at the worst possible time. (Isn't that always the way it happens?) One of our computer gurus came to the library to diagnose the reason for the paper jams. When replacing the rollers didn't fix the problem, he disassembled the whole printer to fix a stuck solenoid. For awhile that looked like that would do the trick, but alas, it was not to be. His stopgap solution was to add the library to another printer on the network and then order a new printer for us. We have had this one for about 12 years so we have no reason to complain. Farewell, O good and faithful servant.
Cool shot

This proves that we are getting VERY technical in today's world. Love your story and the capture .... this one now "goes out to pasture!"

12 years seems to be ancient for printer use! Love all the gobbledy-gook of the machinery. Fun story too!

Discovered this ol' post from the 'printer' tag. Reminds me of my very first printer: HP LaserJet III in 1991 (or thereabouts). It. Was. A. Beast. Lasted a long, long time. Then printer manufacturers discovered that the better business model for the home printer market was to make [relatively] throwaway hardware and make their money on the consumables. With my new purchase this month, I have abandoned color (and HP) and gone back to laser.
