Next door neighbors tell the sad story. As snow begins to melt from the roof, it will naturally slide (picture on left). Unfortunately the snow may pick up speed and take the gutter along with it. (picture on right)
@phil_howcroft I don't really know. The houses were probably built in the 1950s and no telling if the gutter was original to the house or a replacement.
Whoops- something wore out or wasn't attached right. It's not too hard to fix though, and it looks like other than the gutter itself, not much was damaged. Good collage.
Is the right picture the back of the house? I noticed they're different photos, but the style of the house it similar. The stairs aren't the same on the left as on the right, and there's no number on the right photo.
@allie912 Aaahh... they're what they call PIN houses here in Australia. In the 1970's, when my folks had their house built, they were offered up about 4 -5 different styles, plans and building material to have their homes built from (brick or wood). And they pointed out the plan number, style number and that they wanted wood... and they were called PIN Houses. Most of the houses around my area and on the street my parents live on are similar in style because they were built cheaply by the council.
This sounds like this was a similar thing that happened in the 1950's where you are.
Just wondering.
