Sauntering through The Ngorongoro Conservation Area, this female seemed not to have a care in the world.
Meanwhile i’m heartsick about the discovery of a massive poaching ring in Botswana, where the corpses of at least 67 elephants were discovered by aerial inspection. They had all had their tusks hacked off. Botswana had been considered the model for effective wilddlife conservation in Africa, but clearly there are, many factors in play.
It must be very inspiring to see the animals in their natural habitat and have the ability to photograph them. Sickening to hear about the elephants. Somehow the places where the ivory is sold must be shut down so there is no market for the ivory and therefore no need to kill the elephants. Beautiful shot.
