Here you see the father of a Fourth Grader who is by profession a cartographer. He spoke to his daughter’s grade about patterns of migration around the world and through history. On the right you can see part of a YouTube video that shows those patterns through time. It was fascinating. One force I didn’t realize had such a powerful influence on the increase in migration was the availability and reduced cost of airfare. Where traveling by plane used to be reserved for the wealthy, now air travel is much more accessible to all classes.
