The 8th annual International Emerging Leaders Conference has begun at Collegiate, with students from many countries. Each team comes from a different school bringing an environmental problem they feel needs to be addressed. The focus of the conference is to use the combined wisdom of all the students to come up with solutions to their problems. The concept they use is called Design Thinking, and this afternoon the group was introduced to the process that makes this approach so effective. I walked over to the Upper School so I could observe the beginning of the week’s activities. The energy level was very high. They will present their finished solutions on Thursday evening. On Friday the students visit the Lower School to share their experiences with our younger kids. Our students look forward to the excitement of meeting these international visitors.
