Snowy Spikes by alophoto

Snowy Spikes

And so begins year 2...

Happy 2013, friends. I've been working today on slogans for myself for the new year.

So far, I've come up with:
Stop being mean, in 2013.
Don't be obscene in 2013.
Make lots of green in 2013.
No making scenes in 2013.
Eat jellybeans in 2013
No more drama queen in 2013.

I haven't decided what to go with yet, though the making lots of green one sounds nice:).

I've come back for another year. Year one was a pretty amazing experience for me. It was one of the best things that I have ever done for myself. I joined to chronicle our year and ended up falling in love with photography and doing pretty well with it for a newbie. Trouble is, it was hard on my family...they didn't have as much of me as they had in the past and they did not like that so much. Though we do have lots more great family photos and memories as a result of my participation.

Anyway, my goal this year is to be much better balanced with my time on here, much less stressed about the photos, have much more fun and not tick off my wonderful family quite as much. I may not post everyday and that is just fine.

I also have the goal to learn my new camera and it's settings much better. I want to be growing in my skills as photographer with each passing month. Heck, someday I'd like to even figure out how to do this for a living...or on the side for extra cash. My daughter recently said to me that she would like for me to work as a photographer. Sounds good to me!

I am excited about this new year and the many adventures that lie ahead. And I am looking forward to sharing it with you. Would you join me?

And one more thing...today, I looked back to my first photo of 365 from when I started last year. It's funny to see from whence we came: http://365project.org/amandalomonaco/365/2012-01-01
I'm in and I will be your accountability partner since I have the same trouble with my wonderful family. But I agree with the benefits too. I like the No more drama queen and stop being mean!

Oh my goodness...seeing 0% complete is freaking me out! So strange to start over.

Wonderful shot! I agree with your experiences and ideas for year two...a much more relaxed approach! I will join you, but there may be gaps and i will have fillers in 2013 :)

I think the jelly beans is a good one.

Super first shot to your second year! :) I'm just happy you're continuing in whatever form that may be :) I love all of your new sayings :) And lovely snowy branches :) And you could definitely do this for a living! :)

I think they're some great goals. And yeah, from my experiences, I can relate to how easy it is to get lost in this project and community. That's one reason I didn't jump back in last year. I like your approach - think it'll be great for you. Lovely shot - I love the way the snow looks contrasting to the spikes. It's like soft and spiky all together.

Nice shot and great narrative - welcome back for another year!

Amanda, thanks for the help with the Facebook part. I remember you getting started last year, and I have really enjoyed seeing the pictures that you posted throughout 2012. I looked around on the site at the start of last year, and just didn't make the effort to really get started on it. But I am really excited to try it out this year, and I have a much different perspective on it this year as opposed to last. Can't wait to see the wonderful photos you post this year, at whatever frequency you choose, and can't wait to share mine as well. Thanks!!

How about....
Make my own Potcheen in 2013?
Act like a teen in 2013
I'm like you, 2013 is a chill out year on 365 for me. NO STRESS!!!

Oh, you crazy thing! Jellybeans, absolutely. . .and it sounds like there are going to be a great handful of us trying to stick to our resolutions centered around a less-obsessive 365x2!

@nana2r Thanks, Carren. I will need one. So far, I am failing! Sheesh!

@aleksandra Amen, sister. Let's do this:). Thanks, lady!

@helixconcepts Mmmmm, yes...me, too!

@kbalychev Someday, my friend. I supposedly have a family portrait shoot coming up this spring. We haven't discussed cost yet, though. Thanks, Kimberly!

@emrob Love your description and glad that you can relate. Thanks so much, Mandy!

@soboy5 Thank you, Danny! Appreciate that!

@thehubsports So glad that my freakishness with this project didn't scare you off. I think that now 7 of my FB friends (if not more) are joining us this year! So excited to share it with people I know from way back when. Remember our cotton pickin' skit in Harris' class?:) And thanks for your kind comments!

@seanoneill I have no idea what that is...must google. You are funny, Sean. No stress. So far so good:)!

@lyno Let's keep each other accountable, lady! Thanks, Lyn. Jellybeans are good!!!

Aah, Potcheen, it's illegal Whiskey!
January 2nd, 2013
@seanoneill Oh, it must be strong. I live close to the Bourbon trail so whiskey is big stuff here.

Since you've finished a year, I suppose you could just sit back and preen in 2013. Enjoy! :-)

What a beautiful shot, Amanda. This is when it is nice to have snow as it sure makes for a beautiful photo. I think it will be a fun second year for you and wish I was closer to it as I missed so many posts and would be ending this week, I think. I hear you as I spend time at my computer versus family but works ok in my household though lack of sleep at night for me has got to change. It will be fun to go through this year together. Love your photos and love your writing. I would love to make a few dollars doing this as well. Time will tell. Hope you are staying warm, it is 28 degrees this morning and very frosty outside but sunny.

@darsphotos We have been below freezing here. It's nuts. I am getting used to it, though and it is not terrible. Today is sunny and it really helps make it feel warmer. Thanks so much, Darlene. Glad that you will continue!:)

I just went through your entire gallery . Wow. I'll never try that again. Although it was nice to watch your family grow. Your husband seems like a great guy and you are inspiring. I need to lighten up and live a little more. You did a great, great job. Where did the gallery from year one go? Did you stop for a while before continuing?
