Harley Feelin' It by alophoto

Harley Feelin' It

Today, I had to take Emily into the doctor for some ongoing stomach issues that she's been having. After her appointment, she was cleared to go back to school so I dropped her off (and packed my camera along for the ride).

On the way home, I passed the Harley Davidson Dealership/Store and pulled in. It's a place I've been meaning to go for photos. I snapped a photo or two of the bikes out front when a biker looking dude came out and started watching me. I explained that I am a photographer who was just stopping for a few quick photos for my online project. He stood there watching me do my thing and we chatted a bit about motorcycles. I told him that I had been surprised with and proposed to on a motorcycle date but that we no longer have one now that we have 3 children. He was trying to sell me on getting another one as I snapped photos.

If you squint and your eyes are really good, you can maybe make me out in the shiny 'hubcappy' thing in the middle of the front wheel. The creepy employee who stood by watching me the whole time is in the reflection, too.

It was a pretty awkward experience, all in all. I am quite good at finding myself in those or even creating those, it seems.

Like my title pun? I am feeling a bit better today and luckily was up for taking some photos again.

I put up another Harley shot in my other album: http://365project.org/amandalomonaco/themes-challeng/2013-02-20

Great place to stop for shots. Before reading it, I was going to say they looked very clean and shinny; then I understood why.

Great perspective. Good for you for staying and taking shots. I think I would have been scared off by a creepy employee xx

Nice repetitions, the composition works well. Maybe the creepy guy was the price you had to pay for use of the subject matter ...

@edie Thank you, lady!

@automaticslim Perhaps it was worth it then. Maybe the next time I go back, I should take a friend to be safer from the creepin' creep;-). Thanks, Andy!

@kbalychev You got that right. Glad that he was harmless, just seemed creepy. Me, too. No job news today, but perhaps I will still hear or there is better out there for me or a different way I should be spending my time. Thanks for your comments, my friend!

Excellent composition - Harleys are great fun to photograph, with their beautiful paint and chrome and classic lines. Can you tell I love motorcycles yet?
February 23rd, 2013
@soboy5 Do you have one? We've had two over the years...a Suzuki GS500 and a Kawasaki LTD454...it was Harleyesque. Once we had kids, though, I wouldn't ride anymore and glared at my hubby when he wanted to. They are so fun, but pretty dangerous. I have a slight scar on my leg from a burn on the muffler from one of my first rides. Thanks, Danny!!

Fantastic perspective, love the reflection you captured in the wheel on the front!
February 26th, 2013
@tanja_1211 Me, too, Tanja. I only wish it was more visible on here so you all could better see the creeper;-).
