Where Do I Go From Here? by alophoto

Where Do I Go From Here?

It is gorgeous out today. The sun is shining, the sky is blue. I took my daughter to school in a bit late today and stopped by the historic Kings Mansion on our way home. This weather vane is on top of the old carriage house behind the mansion.

The sun tricks me into thinking that it is warm out sometimes. I had on just a fleece, no hat or gloves. After just minutes of walking around and taking photos, my hands were aching, my other daughter was crying...it was pretty miserable.

It was the first time in days that I picked up my camera. It felt so good to be with my old friend again. I had missed her:).

My get pushed challenge this week was local architecture. We don't have much in the form of large or grand buildings immediately nearby so this is it. Hope to make it downtown this week for larger scale architecture. It's been a week or more of dealing with sickness around our home, so I am ready to get out!
@tammeray Hey lady, here is my first shot for local architecture. More to come hopefully:)!

Excellent question. Here's another. How the heck did I get here in the first place? I like that weathered roof corner. Nice :)

Omg, I love this. The horsie on top is brilliant and the colors are nice. Appreciate the metaphor too. Most of all, love the texture of the roof!!! Niiiice.

Which way? In the words of Freddie Mercury... "anyway the wind blows" Nice shot against that beautiful blue sky.

Great shot with the lovely sky. That horse has some muscles!!

Glad you got a bit of sun, even if it was still cold! We have a gray day here today, and I've been sick the past few days, so I'm feeling very blah and need some sun and warmth to snap me out of it. Unfortunately we have three chances for snow this week. AAAGGGH. :)
March 19th, 2013
@rockinrobyn The only upside to that is a snow day (though then the kids are all home all day, so...). Hope that you get some sunshine soon. I will try to send you some! Winter needs to leave the building!
March 19th, 2013
@rockinrobyn P.S. Hope that you feel better soon, my friend. My kids have been on and off sick for weeks. I had one out of school yesterday. Clara has been dealing with asthma from stupid colds and then an on and off fever. Sickness needs to leave the building, too! Praying for you!
March 19th, 2013
Thank you! And yes, sickness and winter both need to find the nearest exit, lol!

I look back to my album from March of last year and see sunny photos of blooming daffodils, fishing trips and the boys wearing shorts and/or short sleaves. What a different March this has turned out to be!
March 19th, 2013
It does look nice! Shame it doesn't feel quite so good :0(.

Thank you all for your great comments on my photo. I find that sometimes I pick the wrong one for my main album. This may have been one of those times, though I do really love the shot. I try to keep my album mixed up, though, so it does do that. Ahhhh, for sunny days and blue skies. Now if it will only warm up!

Great composition perfect balance of blue sky, a little puff of clouds, and I love the weathered wood it all sets off the weather vane.

@mrsvanpatten @kbalychev @edie Thanks so much, my friends. I liked this one, too. I think that it was the way that seeing the blue sky made me feel. So happy for an almost end to the grayness...though it is snowing today! Sheesh!
