I heavily upped the contrast and converted. I heard that shooting in mono doesn't get the best result as per someone in my photo club...like you get less shades that way. What do you think? The one time I shot in mono, I really liked the result. It was that pipe with the birds that you had liked. Thanks, Jeff. I really liked this one, too! @jsw0109
@amandal my most fav'd b&w was shot in monochrome and there was no post processing on it. What I do is shoot in RAW and jpg. The raw file will NOT be in monochrome, but if you shoot in monochrome and have a RAW file and a jpg file, you can get a better shot to work with when converting to b&w because you'll have an idea of whether or not you're getting a proper range of black and white light info from the jpg image you can preview on your lcd or led screen. If it looks too gray, you probably need to change a setting like aperture. If the preview looks good and you're happy with it when you upload, you don't have to mess with the RAW file, but if you want to see what you can do with the RAW file, you just convert it to b&w and do whatever you're going to do with it, but you'll find yourself spending less time in post process with the RAW file if you shoot that way. Does that make sense?
@jsw0109 Wait, what language are you speaking? Just kidding. I get it. I am not shooting in RAW yet. Our computer would keel over dead. Sometime when I get a new one, I will give it a try. Thanks for your great input. In the meantime, I post process. My most popular b&w ever was converted. Can you link me to yours?
@psychographer Thanks so much for the fav, Lisa. I really liked this one as the mama of the subjects, but appreciate that you do, too. I want to get more photos of my kids, but have them be still unique/unposed and such. This met that challenge, I think.
@archaeofrog Thanks, lady. I kinda dug the details of the cool bridge. Trying to get more important life stuff yet keep it interesting. Not just posed smiling kids.
Thank you all so very much for your great comments on this wiggly bridge shot. I really liked the lines and textures here and appreciated that you did, too. We had such a great time at the museum and boy did it make for some great photo ops!
@nadaa Thanks, lady. I am trying more to take shots of things that matter and am including my kids a bunch these days. Still trying to keep it artsy. They are home with me all summer.
We are still in school, but mine will be home all summer as well. I just still haven't gotten over my fear of putting people pictures online. Maybe one day.
It's a great shot.....the lines lead right to your little one:)
@deeganp Thank you, very much sweet Pea! Really appreciate the fav!

@sewsharyn Thanks so much, sweet lady!:)
This is way good.
I love the lines, the textures, the action. I can feel the wiggle-waggle bridge under my feet. Hang on!
