Today was my second Sunday in a row taking in the sunrise. I think that it is going to be a regular thing for me...sunrise Sundays. Hopefully next week, I can get a friend to join me and we can find a new location. I tried hard to make that happen for this morning contacting 4 local 365ers, but no luck.
It was so nice and peaceful to watch the sun creeping up as I lay on my tummy on the dock at my favorite place. I got to see the baby ducks, watch a heron fly across the water and greet some other early risers. Perfect morning.

What a beautiful shot, Amanda. Love the reflection you captured and once again realize that it is beautiful to have the blurry background. What is the focal point is clear and works so well in your photo. If I lived there I would be with you on your outings a lot to take photos. FAV

this is positiively scrumptious! fav! i spent a winter of chasing daybreak on Sundays... mostly it rained... but it was awesome practice nonetheless :)

Is it a difference between Americans and Aussies? Oh well, letting it go now. It was a gorgeous morning and I am loving my time doing that. Just wish I didn't have to go alone all the time. Hope to get a friend to join me next time and go to a place that does NOT have a gazebo? Did you see that the dock in the photo above was actually one attached to the stinkin' thing? You 100% again?

@amandal - the title would have been taken from where I got the phrase from. It has no real relevance towards Americans. Its origins are simply Australian and has no reference to anyone else. I'd tell you more, but...

@tabbycat Thanks so much, lady. I hope to find a new place for next weekend. I went here two weeks in a row (my same old boring lake that I've photoed endlessly). So glad to have a new take on it with this shot, though. I had taken the same shot when I went out last weekend and redid so I got it for this date. The light the previous weekend was way more dramatic, but maybe the moodier feel here was cool, too.
love love this!! I can see why this is a favorite spot! I saw something about a photographer that took a picture of the same tree for a year, each photo was different and beautiful (must have seen it here on 365) ...just a thought...
