This was one of Teri out on the water yesterday morning at sunrise. I had asked some local 365 friends and Teri (my yoga class friend with a new camera similar to mine) to join me for the sunrise over water somewhere. Teri was interested and said that she would love to bring her kayak. She also came up with a place to go that was different for me and got me there...I followed her.
Well if that alone isn't perfect, I've wanted for a year or more to capture a good kayak or boat on the water in good light. It's been a type of a dream shot of mine. And now I had a willing model.
This was one of the more dramatic images from the morning with everything pointing to to sun.
I had a great sunrise, loved hanging with a new friend and finally got that dream shot.:) The only bummers were Teri's camera battery being dead, me not having a kayak to join her and having to rush off to home and break from the serenity...not being able to completely immerse in it.
Happy new week, friends. May it be sunny and blessed.
View large, if you will, to see the wee Teri on her kayak...all lined up and pointing to the sun.
This is beautiful ... love the light and reflections!! I have missed you shots on my feed some how....I have to laugh because I looked up, and clicked on 365 and found your "It's a wrap" posting....and I was shocked!! THought you left without saying goodbye!!! hahahah! Then..the dates were all wrong and I was so confused!!! oh dear!! Anyway, so glad you are still here! This is lovely, and so glad you got your shot! FAV
Golden girl... that's a beautiful experience... a few moments if serenity= eternity ( in my books) :-) Fav, dear, the light pointing to the sun is a winner... all the way...
Lovely sense of sailing away into the sunset. Love the trails left by the paddles. A really pleasing shot and you should be pleased with it! It looks idyllic.
@snaggy Yeah, you are back. I was just thinking of you today and wondering if you were alright. More than anyone else, when you are not around I worry that you did some crazy stunt for a photo...glad that is not the case. Thanks so so much for your kind comments and the fav. I really appreciate your words!
@amandal No I'm fine, just finding the day to day stuff quite hard at the moment - haven't got back into the flow since being on holiday. When there's something to shoot like the cycling event at the weekend I'm all over it like a rash (although I then had 600 photos to work through!). But the end of summer is just hard I think - everything is just dry and uninteresting in th UK - need the season to change pronto I think. You, on the other hand, are aceing it!
@snaggy I feel the need to move again at times. We moved here a year and a half ago from California. It was so nice to have the new setting, but I feel like I know it pretty well by now and am getting bored photographing the same old places. I really need to figure out a way to travel more! Yes a change of seasons will be a fresh subject! Looking forward to the cooler weather, too.
Love getting those ops for photos, but hate the working through them bit. I never posted our vacation to FB...never fully finished sorting and editing.
@taffy Really appreciate the fav, lady! Honored so much by insta ones:)!!
@adamj Thanks so much for the fav, my friend. Is it just me or are you too feeling like you fell flat after two weeks of amazing.
@anazad511 Truly blessed with friends who are willing to go out with me and pose...even first thing in the morning. I so wish I was kayaking, too. Thanks!
@bobfoto I need to get rid of that shot! Maybe put something after it. I didn't quite think that one through! And it is always there...I should have just kept that album my 365 album and started year 2 on Jan 1, there. Well shoot. I even considered moving all of year 2 over, but then it would waste tons of time and all of my links would be screwed up. Oh well. So be it. Stop looking...
I cried at the end of the movie. It was good. Thanks for the recommendation.:)
@eyesmile Ugh, so annoyed that THAT selfie is always there...the first photo that shows up when you look at my albums. I wish I had kept that my 365 album and started year 2 on Jan 1st. Bad planning on my part. Thanks so much for the kind comments and fav, my friend. And glad to still be around and have not finished my year and quit (though wish I could take it a little easier and be more balanced). I work on it and improve for a bit and then go nuts again!
@carolmw Thanks so much for the kind words and fav, lady!!
@amrita21 Love you wonderful comments, lady. And the fav is the added bonus. Thanks so much!
@thirtysevenways Really appreciate that, Andy. I only wish that I had left the colors more dramatic perhaps and that it wasn't so small. Ah well...it is lovely still!! Just not as good as your freakin' amazing boat shot!! That's a total framer!
@yorkie Thanks so much for that fav, Yorkie. Really appreciate that!
@cameraholic Thanks so much for your kind words, fav and follow. Following you back, lady!!
Thank you all so much for your kind comments on this shot of mine. I really appreciate all of your continued support and encouragement. And I encourage you to get out soon and witness the rising or the setting sun. Such a stunning time of day!
@amandal - Nah the story about Mabo is quite serious... it ends up being a court case which gave way to the Native Title Act in Australia. Bit like having your house sold from underneath you... had that happen to me once. I left the country instead.
@bobfoto I'll bet that would be tough to find here. Hope we find something else and don't have to leave the country. What I found and we looked at last night seemed promising. We even sent an offer with our negotiable ideas.
@amandal - I love the feeling of home ownership now that I have a bonafide mortgage. But I know all too well the issues with leases and rents and moving. Hope it goes well for you.
@bobfoto So far so good. He agreed to everything we said but had to think on us bringing in our dog. He got back and upped the down payment by 1%. We have to decide if we can do that. We hope to buy the place in a year. We had to short sell our home to move here (market burst), but would be elgible to buy again in a year). It's so strange to rent again after being homeowners since 2001. But such is life. You own in Australia or PNG? Do you own the compound?;-) Kinda ironic that we just watched "The Castle," though...makes we want to take the landlord to the Supreme Court. Not really. She has every right to sell the place. We don't want it either.
@bobfoto Any swans? Yes. And I've never seen them choking on bread or sick from eating it. Not that I've fed them. I have fed ducks and geese and I've heard that is bad, too. Talk about a childhood fun spoiler. We have a swan in the river near us that I shot the fog in yesterday. And had them in our lake in downtown Orlando.
@pasadenarose@kjarn Thanks so much, kind ladies. I loved my mornings out, but started getting way too run down as a result of them and had to take a break. I miss the serenity!!
