Shine On, Heron

One of my favorite creatures at the lake are the herons. I love how close they let me get to them without flying away. I love the way they fly low to the water. I love the sound of their screech when they do make a noise. They are so peaceful on their long legs, standing still and enjoying nature. I'd love to hang out with a heron for the day sometime.

This one was noticing the diamonds in the water. Maybe it was a girl heron and she was thinking, "Gotta find a fish, gotta find a fish...ooooooh, shiny!" Silly heron!
