I normally shy away from flower photography. Maybe it's that I don't have a macro lens, perhaps that I've been friends with Cromwell (a known flower hater) for so long, but this was a shot that had to be taken. The lighting was just too good to pass up on a click. I took a few shots, moved the flowers around even, but this was my first click. I find that that happens a bunch.
These are the flowers that Michael brought home to our now 7-year-old daughter, Emily, for her birthday. How sweet is that for a daddy to give his little girl flowers? It honestly melted my heart.
I need to be in the light today. I need some sun, some warmth and a good strong dose of vitamin D. We are moving into our grayer time of year and I don't like it so much. It makes me feel blue to have gray days on end. Praying for some sunny blue skies tomorrow.
@maggiemae He seemed annoyed by lack of comments and stopped posting. At least that is what it seemed like. He has a FB page and gets lots of action there, I think.
This is lovely Amanda.Photographing flowers can seem to be an easy " pretty" shot,.but they are actually very complex life forms. You have captured this bloom so delicately .The composition is wonderful and The light in this image is beautiful. It reflects the sentiment behind the shot.My heart is literally melting for a little girl with her coconut and flowers from Daddy!
Flowers are one of my favorite subjects, i can take 100 photos of the same flower and have everyone of them be different. i love the light and the detail, nice detail without a macro lens. So sweet Daddy brought her flowers. Love the coconut idea as a gift!
The light and the color are beautiful! Nicely composed. Congrats on PP I so agree with you about needing vitamin D. It is why we go south for the winter in our RV. It isn't always all that warm, but it is always sunny and mostly pleasant. I truly do suffer when it is dark and gloomy and wet and cold. Sunny days are wished for you!! FAV BTW...love the light!
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on this lovely lit flower and the sweet gesture of my loving hubby. Thanks for melting with me:). Hope your week's are going well!
@bobfoto It's actually medium sized. But seriously, the flower photo?! My most yawn inducing of the bunch. Well maybe there were more. I liked my trippy next one best. I mean, thanks:).
And a nice memento.
@eyesmile Aw, thanks so much for the fav, Gena!!!
