Mad Props by alophoto

Mad Props

I can't believe that I am in the home stretch of my second year on 365. I'm at over 80% complete now. Starting to think about whether or not to continue and if so, in what capacity next year. I think that if I do something, it will be reduced to a post or so a week. This is a very time consuming project and has still caused me problems with my home life at times this year.

Also starting to think about my final photo and what to do. I still have my wrapping paper dress from last year...can you believe it?! It's looking a little worse for the wear, though.

Congrats and mad props to you who stick with this project, those who have completed a year or more and those who are rounding up their first years. What an accomplishment!
Meg

This is really great, love the pun. I was thinking the same thing about next year. I don't want to quit all together but it's too time consuming to post and comment all the time.

I think I will be a one and done guy. This is a very cool image. Nice and sharp and tells a little story.

Wow Amanda - what a great job you have done of keeping up the level of commitment and quality, for not one but 2 nearly two years. I take my hat off to you! Very nice composition here. Great simplicity.

Great pop of red in this Amanda. I too am thinking about next year, but I'm only on 80% not 180%!
This community is so fantastic though, it will be hard to let go....

That's a great composition Amanda! Genius!

@adamj Don't leave, Adam...you help keep it fun around here. Maybe just cut way back to weekly or something. I though I would take it way easier this year...yeah , not so much.
October 26th, 2013
@amandal definitely finishing the project full time.
October 27th, 2013
@adamj Of course...I meant next year.

What a cool pop of color, plus bonus reflection!

@bobfoto Fewest comment in forever. I actually kinda like this one weird though it is. it's amazing what not commenting much does to your comments.
October 27th, 2013
Great shot and colors but fav and "props" for words, thanks for being such an inspiration and whatever you contribute going forward is gravy :)
October 27th, 2013
@kevin365 Really appreciate the kind comments and fav, Kevin!

Quite spectacular picture I reckon! The appreciation and encouragement one gets here is worth all the time involved to me. Perhaps only comment or post on 3 days a week! Don't know if that would work.
October 27th, 2013
Very cool composition.
October 27th, 2013
@amandal - won't be long before you're back on the PP... my toenails are still groady to the max.
October 27th, 2013
@bobfoto Ugh...why? are you an anti cut stuff kinda guy? trying for a world record?
October 27th, 2013
Very cool composition! Love the pop of orange against the blues.
October 27th, 2013
Fun shot Amanda....you continue to inspire me every day!!
October 27th, 2013
Beautiful shot! I hope you continue -- your work is amazing and I'd be happy to see it even once a week. Coming to the end of my first year feels totally amazing. Wondering what it would feel like to continue and imagining that I will. It's such a part of my life now. Congrats on all you've accomplished as a photographer!
October 27th, 2013
cool
October 27th, 2013
Nice shot - great colour contrasts :)
October 27th, 2013
Great shot Amanda as always. I hope you find a way to continue without causing problems, it's hard to find time for yourself when you have a young family.
October 27th, 2013
Love the simplicity... ah hearing all these end talks... hope I complete my project.
October 27th, 2013
Mad props to you! I am finding it next to impossible to keep up with the second year. i like the composition and love the reflection

What a great orange! So collecting and using mad props is what makes images like this work? And so encouraging to hear you are almost finished with year two . . . I'm still on year one . . .
October 28th, 2013
@jyokota I liked the reflection and color and space here. No clue what makes it work, but it did for me. Not one of my best received images, but...I was so on an orange kick last week! Feeling very fall and Halloweeny and showing the orange.

I'm struggling at the end. I will do another year, but on my own terms. Beautiful imagery, love the composition. You've been awesome!
October 29th, 2013
I hope you can find a way to carry on. I am planning to enter a 3rd year as I have to go until end Feb to complete a main album year of B+W.
October 29th, 2013
Lovely, fab colours and use of negative space.
October 29th, 2013
@riverlandphotos Own terms sounds good. Unfortunately I like to do everything fully and to the best of my ability. I need to learn to let go more and that less is a ok! You are so sweet. Thanks, friend!!

@seanoneill I will, I think. I love it too darn much. But I still need to better figure out the balance and appropriate placement of importance with life and this. Thanks, friend!!

@pennyp Thank you, Penny. I was drawn to the space!!:)

Love the simplicity of this, Amanda.

I did the don't-miss-a-day for the first year, but knew I couldn't sustain that for a second year. I now try to post 4-5 times a week -- makes it harder to keep the momentum going, but it feels like a better balance for me.
October 30th, 2013
@wendyhgill I am very loosey goosey about when I post photos (I don't shoot daily and maybe do 3-4 times per week and use the photos I like when I want to). It's my project and I can do it how i want. I just need to let the posting every day thing go, I think. Thanks so much, sweet lady!

Awesome color. Love the simplicity

@losthorizon Thanks, Beau! Simple can be so nice sometimes!
