It's crazy to me how affected by the sun I am. Having grown up in Florida and then lived in California, I never had a shortage of sunlight.
I do, though, living in Ohio, especially in the fall and winter months. After three days of grayness, rain and even tornado warnings that took us to the basement for shelter last night, I am basking in the beautiful sun today. I'm seriously like a lizard, turning my face into it and feeling the rays warm me and give me life again.
Even though it was cold, I bundled Clara up in two blankets and took her out in the stroller for a quick jog so that I could get us some D. It felt amazing.
Today, I was bit by the selfie bug...sometimes I feel like I just gotta do one NOW. So I put on my new pants for a trial run and dressed up like Trinity from The Matrix (it was on TV yesterday and I thought that it would be pretty cool to dress up like that sometime).
We are closing on the house on Friday. It's all coming together quickly finally. Just hope that the packing and prep can, too. I guess that I should get on that sometime, huh? It's not seeming to do itself very well. Shoot.
This is all wrong I know, but I don't understand as I have never heard of the Matrix, sorry - but I shall look it up. Nice that you get to bask in the sunshine before the packing. Good luck for Friday!
I really like the picture (cool angle and lighting). I love the outfit and the subject :-). However, I'm a little disappointed that you can't see more of you and your matrix attire. Also, since when did Trinity wear leather to bask in the sun?
@mikeable I was trying to get the blinds stripes on me...that selfie idea I had. That was a fail. I'll have to show you the rest to see what you think.
My sister (in Indy) was hiding in her house yesterday too. The tornadoes were pretty intense and scary! That's a fun shot, with a little of that Vitamin D peeking through the window!
What a cool 'selfie".....and you look fabulous BTW!! You caught those sunbeams perfectly!!! I feel the same way about the sun...that's why we are where we are now!! I know that I work better under pressure and what ever needs to be done gets done!! Enjoy the process as much as you can. And sooo happy you are safe. Must be scary to run to your basement for shelter....i can't even imagine!!.
so many people here in Oregon have that same sun need. My husband born and raised in So. California...hates it here! i being born and raised here, hardly even notice
@bobfoto I cut off stuff. I had one that I liked but I was missing a foot and could not post that (or I'd get Jason guff). I should have had the camera in landscape in the end. Oh well...not one of my best works, but...I do like the light. I needed that.
@bobfoto Stop. My shades have light on them. I was going for the stripe of the blinds. I wanted to be a zebra girl, but I should have had the camera tilted down not straight. Thanks.
@bobfoto Well thanks you. Closing is Friday. Working to get kids transferred to new school. And still trying to will the packing to happen on it's own. It's not though.:(
Way cool! Next shot you will be running across a wall? ;-) This is great though, and glad things are continuing to move forward positively for you and family.
@rellimdj Truly should have been a little more active being Trinity and all. I actually had another shot in mind altogether, but it didn't work out as planned. Thanks, Joe!!
Thanks so much for your comments on my laying in the sun/Matrix like selfie. As per some suggestions, the next time I do a Trinity selfie, I will be in action. She didn't lay around much in the movie. Really appreciate your great comments and support. I loved this outfit so much yesterday that I had to put the pants on again for another selfie today. May as well get use out of them before they fall apart (cheap pants).
Slick shot my friend. I really like your positioning in this one. Nice finish to it as well. You best get started with the packing. That is one major stressor. I've moved enough to know. Best of luck!
Sending you some sun! I'm much the same about needing light - only it doesn't like my pale skin. I hope everything goes smoothly with the house. Really cool angle on this, although there's a particular glow coming from your posterior.
@riverlandphotos Yeah, that oddly placed glow was unintentional, unfortunate and I thought a little more downplayed in b&w. It seemed more flare like in color and who wants a flare coming from there?! Thanks so much, friend!!
@pflaume@adamj@northy Thanks, guys. This one was rather weird, but I liked it for that, I think. Thanks for the house wishes, too!!
Hey - great news about the house. Now get on with that packing, girl! lol
