She hid in the box when I was in the other room and popped out for me after I called her a few times. This is a reenactment because it was so stinking cute.
My little 'Roorie' is sick today. She's been under the weather a bit for days, but today has horrible asthma cough and we are having a hard time getting it under control. If you are the praying kind, we'd appreciate prayers for her quick return to health. Man, I can't stand asthma. We've seem to miss out on so much living being stuck at home with sickness. I feel a bit like I am in a box today!
Thank you sooooo much for your fun and support with my crazy sewer selfie yesterday. I love to tell a good story (and kinda dig that good stories always seem to happen to me). I love that you appreciate hearing them and that you get and enjoy my silly side. Thanks, friends!!!
and she makes a cardboard box look glamorous !!! clearly runs in the family - sending good energy your way and fresh air for the lungs straight from the Med :o)
Clara has her mother's sense of fun and is such a cutie to boot!
Just sharing an experience - we went down the homeopathy route (after we'd done all the ventilin etc from the doctor) with our son and it was a long haul, but after a year he was and still is, 10 years later, completely Asthma free. I know homeopathy isn't everyone's cup of tea, but with a really good and experienced homeopathist behind us we have won many a medical battle. As I said, I thought it might be worth sharing our experience, not trying to preach alternative medicine. Hope Roorie is soon fighting fit again.
Oh my! What an angel! One could get lost in her dark eyes! Such a fun photo!
We've been trying to move for 2 years. I got 1/2 my house put in boxes and stored in the garage and then we decided I'd stay here and my husband would keep working 450 miles away. Yuck. But, if you can't find a house, you can't find a house. Good luck with everything!
@happysnap Really appreciate that, Linda. I try to combine. I do lots of things like hot peppermint tea, honey, baths, steamy time in bathroom, vics on the bottom of her feet, and the asthma meds. Can you tell me what you all did/used? It's so frustrating!
You are way too funny and seriously should be writing that book as you go along. Great photo, Amanda. Good luck with the packing and thanks for the laugh. Your kids have a wonderful Mom with a great imagination. FAV
@amandal Sorry Amanda I can't because the remedy is made up, and is different for each patient, by the homeopath on an individual basis. A really good homeopath will need at least an initial hours consultation to find out all the symptoms and history etc and will base the treatment on your daughter's constitution, symptoms and needs. I am not talking over the counter remedies, i am talking treatment by a fully trained homeoparhic practitioner. I feel sorry for your situation i remember the frustration well (and the scary blue lips!). I know many people have no time for homeopathy (each should form their own opinion) but it was a (and still is) fantastic relief for us. If you are interested I would recommend trying to find out if there are any experienced (recommended) practitioners in your area.
Just a cute & beautiful photo, reminds me of playing in cardboard boxes as a kid. Didn't we all do that at some point? :-) Also I do hope Roorie gets well. My only experience with asthma is with my stepson...he actually "grew" out of it, but I do recall it was frustrating to deal with. Wishing you and family all the best in this situation.
What a supercutie! She has your playful personality. There are so many reports about how asthma is increasing in America, and it might be a reaction to our environment, food dyes, etc. Have you tried an allergist? Of course you have my prayers.
awww such a sweet capture, Amanda. I cant think how hard kids sickness must be to parents =( you have my prayers and my best wishes to beat that asthma!
Really appreciate all of your wonderful comments and well wishes for Clara. Miraculously, she was loads better the next day. I had been able to pick her up an extra inhaler (of steroid) and we prayed for her lots. And there is NOTHING like a box for some good fun for kids. To be honest, I even got in there for a few minutes with her to play boat. Thanks, guys!!
@happysnap Thanks so much for the info. I may just look into that at some point. It certainly couldn't hurt. So can't stand dealing with asthma...and it's not even making me cough all the time. Poor kid.
