Well look what my son found in our soon to be new backyard and gave to his lucky mama:). A perfect shaped heart on a leaf. This sweet find helped me to feel better about our decision.
We have our final walk through today and sign tomorrow. And then after a year and a half of renting, we will be homeowners once again. Sooooo looking forward to feeling settled eventually and hopefully soon. It's been quite some time of not feeling completely at home or settled. Which isn't such a great place to live in, truth be told. Ready to let my roots go deep.
And funnyish back story: I shot this on my Grandmother's old hand mirror, the one that she kept on her dressing table and would use to fluff and fix the back of her hair with. When she died and I saw it laying there discarded, I had to have it. Grandma's mirror. But man, I Windexed and wiped the heck out of the thing today for the photo. I tried cleaning it with multiple materials and spend 10-15 minutes trying to get the thing clean. And there was still dust all over the friggin' thing. I edited it out some, but was over it. Come on!
@m9f9l Isn't that a sweet thing to find?! We really prayed to know that it was right. We really screwed up last time around and made a bad, financially horrible choice. Certainly didn't want to do that again. Really appreciate your kind words, Mary. We are blessed indeed!
I love this Amanda! It is truly a good omen. Wishing you many happy years in your new home, and hope to see photos of it soon. Things truly turn out the way they are supposed to, if we let them happen. Happy that things are coming together.
Your son has quite the eye to find a heart in a leaf like that. What a sweetie to recognize it.
Leave the dust! Call it "Grandma Dust"! She left it, along with the mirror, for you to enjoy. (I was going through my closet yesterday and found my grandma's nightgown. Who saves those things? I almost put it in the donation pile, but then changed my mind and thought better of it. Back into my closet it went!)
Clever, I thought the reflection was real leaf for a mo! Fabulous reflection in your Grandma's mirror! Love that little heart too!
So glad you have found a new home! Good luck with the move! : ) fav
Very cool shot Amanda. Enjoy your new home, I'm one of those people who loves moving....always so exiting and new (good thing to as I'm moving everyday now LOL)
Haha - I did enjoy your funny story about the mirror! That sounds like my mirrors in general! :)
Fab shot, and I love how you found a heart there.... beautiful.
PS - such exciting news about the signing. Hope all goes as planned for you today. We've had great news too - our mortgage offer has been approved yesterday. Hopefully we'll be joining in moving as well! Sooner rather than later, I hope!
Oh that is just sweet! What a fine find and I just love that this is photographed on a old mirrow, I love those kind of old things. Congrats and good luck with the new house!
Really appreciate all of your lovely comments. It's been a blur of packing, signing, making trips to the new place and tomorrow I go over to start the painting. We move in less than 2 weeks now. Stoked!!
@cazann Really appreciate your kind words and fav, Caz!!
